Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026

This policy explains what data Domain Privacy Monitor (the "Service") collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

The Service is operated by LQM Studio, trading name of Maud Royer Conseil, acting as data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / RGPD).

Contact for any privacy question or to exercise your rights: hello@lqmstudio.com

What we collect and why

Your email address. We use it to create your account, send you monitoring alerts, and handle billing-related messages.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for the payment data it collects and retains it according to its own policy and legal obligations. See stripe.com/privacy.

Personal data found in public WHOIS records. When you ask us to monitor a domain, we read its public WHOIS record. If that record contains personal data (for example, a registrant's name or email), we temporarily process it solely to detect changes and notify you. We delete this WHOIS-derived personal data within 48 hours after it is no longer published in the public WHOIS.

Our notification emails never include the personal data itself — they only tell you that a change occurred and invite you to log in to review it. This means our email-delivery provider never sees the WHOIS personal data either.

We do not collect anything else. No tracking cookies, no marketing data.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your data. We rely on a small number of processors strictly to run the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Our email-delivery providers, acting as processor under GDPR-compliant agreements

Retention

  • Email: kept while your account is active, deleted on account closure.
  • WHOIS-derived personal data: deleted within 48 hours of removal from the public WHOIS.
  • Billing records: kept for the legally required period (10 years for accounting purposes in France).

Your rights

Under GDPR you can, at any time:

  • access your data,
  • correct it,
  • delete it ("right to be forgotten"),
  • restrict or object to processing,
  • request portability

To exercise any of these, write to hello@lqmstudio.com. We respond within 30 days.

International transfers

Some processors (e.g., Stripe) may transfer data outside the EU. When they do, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent GDPR-approved mechanism.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will notify users by email before the change takes effect.
